SUMMARY:2024 - Women's Professional Development Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce invites our community to attend our upcoming Annual Women's Professional Development Luncheon on Wednesday\, August 28\, from 11:00 am   1:00 pm at the Wilmington Convention Center.\n\n \n\nThis event has traditionally blended a mix of networking\, inspirational storytelling\, and the opportunity to contribute to the empowerment and support for Wilmington's women business leaders. Attendees will have the chance to engage with women business leaders from our area's top employers\, building valuable connections that can help them grow personally and professionally.\n\n \n\nThis year our program will feature a keynote address from Leah Wong Ashburn\, CEO of Highland Brewing in Asheville\, NC. As a second-generation family business owner\, Leah has successfully guided Highland Brewing to new heights while respecting its rich heritage. During her keynote\, Leah will share her inspiring professional journey\, insights on authenticity in the workplace\, and her experiences in taking over and transforming a family business.\n\n \n\nLeah's career is marked by significant milestones\, including being nominated for the prestigious James Beard Award for Outstanding Beer and Wine Professional in 2018. In 2019\, she was honored with the WomanUP Woman Executive of the Year Award by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce. Beyond her professional achievements\, Leah is an active community leader\, serving on several boards such as the Asheville Chamber\, Buncombe County TDA\, Riverlink\, A-B Tech\, the UNC Board of Visitors\, and the NC Brewers Guild.\n\n \n\nThis event will offer numerous opportunities to meet new professionals and make lasting connections within the community.
