There are several significant water resource infrastructure features within and along the county's shorelines\, and preservation and maintenance of these features is vital to the environment as well as the economy.\n\n \n\nThe Engineering Department's innovative work in maintaining the Carolina Beach Inlet was awarded a 2016 National Association of Counties (NACo) Achievement Award. \n\n\n\nPublic Policy Committee Meetings are open to all members of the Wilmington Chamber. The committee helps us to gather input from our membership and communicate the concerns and positions of the business community to local\, state\, and federal elected officials and government agencies.
