This initiative aims to bring together local industry leaders to collaboratively enhance supply chain resilience\, drive economic growth\, and sustain the prosperity of Wilmington's business community.\n\n \n\nAgenda:\n\n4:00 - 5:00 pm: Business Discussions\n\n5:00 - 6:00 pm: Optional Networking Session\n\n \n\nGuest Speaker:\n\nCape Fear Community College's Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) division will present educational opportunities designed to support the success of talent and workforce development in the Supply Chain and Logistics industry. From short-term Continuing Education programs to tailored Customized Training solutions\, CFCC provides pathways for new professionals entering the field\, current workers looking to upskill\, and businesses seeking professional development.\n\nJan R. Yokeley\, MBA\, is the Director for NCEdge Customized and Corporate Training Program for Cape Fear Community College serving New Hanover and Pender Counties Business & Industries since August 2019. During fiscal year 2023-2024\, the CFCC NCEdge Customized and Corporate Training delivered 134 Classes to 1\,408 Trainees for a total of 1\,888 Instructional Hours. Jan obtained her Bachelors and MBA degrees from Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs\, NC\, and was an economic developer practitioner from 2001 for both county and state levels before joining Cape Fear Community College. Prior to that\, she worked for eight years for WorkForce Carolina Staffing Services.\n\nSamantha McLeod is the Workforce Training Coordinator for Cape Fear Community College's Economic and Workforce Development division\, where she manages job training programs across industries\, including logistics\, technology\, and the arts. She joined CFCC in 2022 as an advisor for Academic and Career Readiness before transitioning into her current role. After relocating to Wilmington in 2021\, Samantha worked as a Production Coordinator for a local film company\, where she established an educational branch and developed a summer camp program for girls interested in filmmaking. She earned her Bachelor's degree in English and Education from NC State University and began her education career in Wake County\, where she spent five years as a high school her and collaborated on district-wide teams to develop a new standards-based state-wide curriculum.\n\nEmily Holt serves as the Director of Workforce Readiness in the Economic & Workforce Development Division at Cape Fear Community College (CFCC). As a native of the Port City\, Emily received her Associate in General Education at CFCC and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies as well as her Master of Arts in Integrated Marketing Communication at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Emily's passion for higher education and workforce training led her back to CFCC and she has since been working at the College for over 6 years. Her area oversees short-term workforce training and apprenticeship programs at the CFCC North Campus such as\, Electrical Lineworker\, Truck Driver Training\, Electrical Apprenticeship\, Fiber Optic Apprenticeship\, Plumbing & Pipefitting Apprenticeship\, Carpentry\, Geographic Information Systems\, etc. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWho Should Attend:\n\nThis meeting is open to stakeholders including port personnel\, freight forwarders\, customs brokers\, shippers\, third-party logistics providers (3PLs)\, carriers\, chassis providers\, and logistics team members from local manufacturers. Chamber members and non-members within these industries are welcome.
