The Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce invites members in good standing to attend the Public Policy Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 24, from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m.
This month’s guest speaker is NC Senate Majority Leader Michael Lee (R–District 7).
Sen. Lee currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and Chairman of the Education/Higher Education Committee. He is also a member of the Commerce and Insurance, Health Care, Judiciary, Rules and Operations of the Senate, and Select Committee on Nominations. Now in his fourth term, Lee has played a key role in adopting balanced state budgets, advancing tax relief, supporting small business reforms, strengthening public education policy, and passing landmark water quality protections, including the Water Safety Acts.
In addition to his legislative leadership, Lee has served on the North Carolina Port Authority Board of Directors (Chairman), the North Carolina Department of Transportation Board, and currently serves on the UNC Wilmington Board of Trustees. A commercial real estate and land use attorney, he has been recognized as Wilmington’s 2020 “Lawyer of the Year” for Commercial Real Estate by Best Lawyers and is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law.
