The Database Administrator is responsible for managing Cameron Art Museum’s Altru database in order to advance museum operations. This highly organized individual is responsible for managing the software that handles membership, admission, ticketing, and fundraising for the museum. Responsibilities include membership processing and maintenance, reporting and analysis of data, gifts processing and acknowledgments, as well as managing data import and data entry, data extraction, data quality initiatives, and other related activities. Serves as lead contact for data analytics, working with key staff and to understand the data needs and develop actionable insights. This person also works closely with Development, Education, and Visitor Services.
Oversee the structure, maintenance, systems, policies, and process of Altru usage.
Main liaison for Altru usage across the museum.
Manage fundraising and membership processing, tracking, acknowledgments, reminders, and follow-up processes.
Manages processing and acknowledgment of all gifts and memberships via mail, credit card, online, and stock transfer.
Review and optimize data management processes across the museum to improve methods for moving donors along our continuum of engagement.
Enter memberships and gifts into database with appropriate coding and notes.
Produces membership letter, acknowledgment letters/tax receipts while checking for grammatical/typographical mistakes and knowledge of practical tax receipting protocol
Generates membership renewals.
Produces weekly metrics report for Development department and monthly reports for Board of Trustees.
Develops and produces weekly, monthly, and quarterly metrics reporting for Education, Visitor Services, and Public Programs.
Produces metrics for annual reports.
Train staff and interns on relevant database systems.
Assist staff with Altru issues and concerns.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of experience development/database role and/or similar, on-profit role.
Three or more years experience in database management.
Proven track record of identifying and evaluating data-informed patterns and outcomes.
Self-starter with strong work ethics, attention to detail, and the ability to think strategically.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
