    The District Manager (DM) serves as the primary link between Port City Java Corporate and the Corporate Café system. The DM applies leadership, influence, and functional expertise to develop and guide corporate Café Managers to successful operation and high functioning of Corporate Cafes. The DM serves as the primary supervisor of corporate Café Managers and provides guidance, coaching and assistance in areas related to management, brand standards, cost controls, and customer service.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

    · Provide leadership and direction to Café Managers and Certified Barista Leaders (CBLs) ensuring that goals and objectives are met. Function as the first line of support for the Café Managers and CBLs, and provide direction related to the implementation of new operational programs and enforcement of brand standards.

    · Visit corporate cafes in order to visually assess the condition of the café’s facilities, behavior of staff, guest interaction and inventory management to help guide the Café Manager and CBL on their prioritization and methods.

    · Assist with hiring of new baristas and CBLs, conduct second interviews and guide Café Managers through the application screening, interview and reference check process when necessary.

    · Select, interview and promote candidates to become CBLs, either from outside the company or within. Assign Cafes as appropriate.

    · Review and approve weekly Café schedules and ensure accuracy and suitability of schedules for all cafes.

    · Write and conduct bi-annual reviews for Café Managers which include goals, recaps of the previous period and assign pay increases when appropriate. Provide and Update quarterly action plans, and assist managers in developing same for CBLs.

    · Conduct regular staff meetings with Café Managers to communicate ideas, share best practices and explain and clarify procedures, policies and rollouts.

    · Analyze monthly financial statements and help Café Managers interpret them and put together a plan to make changes as needed. Provide a report for monthly manager bonus calculations to the CEO.

    · Award PCJ Star Award based on nominations from Café Managers.

    · Maintain a presence on the companies Learning Management Software platform; Verify completion of modules, periodic posting of shout outs, announcements, content and best practices. Assist in verifying and updating policy information.

    · Participate in periodic meetings with heads and key staff of other departments within the company to review system procedures, give updates and plan projects. Participate in projects related to Operations such as new product development, revisions and creation of new training and Human Resources materials, manuals and vendor lists, café construction, conceptualizing and executing marketing campaigns.

    · Oversee the Bakery operations, ensuring that the Bakery Manager and staff are fully trained, that they communicate effectively, and that deliveries occur in a timely and accurate fashion.

    · Responsible for the Maintenance Department. Assist in prioritizing repairs and preventative maintenance. Maintain a stock of small wares for café back up. Report equipment relocation to accounting. Maintain a working knowledge of and the ability to perform basic and routine equipment and facility maintenance.

    · Address guest feedback regarding cafes, or café personnel.

    · Maintain a valid Serve Safe (or equivalent) Certification

    · Maintain service competency to the point of being able to step in to any café operations role when needed.

    · Participate in the planning and execution of annual conference and awards ceremony.

    Salary:
    $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
