    The General Store Manager is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately, and efficiently, cash register operations, and safeguarding company assets. The General Store Manager supervises the general store staff’s performance, implements policies and procedures, and trains and assists fellow employees.

    Essential Job Duties (these duties include, but are not limited to):

    1. Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other aspects of customer service. 

    2. Provide a pleasant shopping experience for all customers.

    3. Handle guest’s issues, following up, finding a resolution, and consulting with upper management if needed.

    4. Answer customer inquiries regarding the Camp Store as well as other departments at the camp-resort. 

    5.  Present a positive impression with a well-groomed appearance, smile, and proper uniform.

    6. Cultivate a positive working environment and lead by example. 

    7. Train, supervise, and support staff

    8.  Count money in the cash register at the beginning of the shift to ensure amounts are correct and there is adequate change.

    9. Control costs and order wisely.

    10. Work with vendors to order a variety of products for the camp store. 

    11.  Keep store layout and products up to date. Keep up the trends so the items stocked are what people want to purchase. 

    12. Listen to feedback from the customers about items that are currently stocked and not stocked in the camp store.

    13.  Assure camp store products are in stock and ordered in a timely manner.

    14.  Organize marketing events such as sales, displays, etc.

    15.  Familiar with the store product, inventory, stock room floor play, layout, etc.

    16.  Familiar with the gem mining program, Knowledge of operation, mining process, stock, and how to order the product. 

    17.  Analyze sales and profits and adjust accordingly.

    18.  Responsible for the performance and growth of the camp store. 

    19. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; maintaining parking lot and walkways.

    20. Maintain a clean camp store by cleaning windows, mopping, sweeping, and dusting.

    21. Use a computer and iPad to process transactions including cash, credit cards, and gift cards.

    22. Familiar with the camp-resort’s POS system as well as the Jellystone Park™ app, and the scheduling program, Jolt.

    23. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.

    24. Take inventory of products twice a year and make sure it is up to date in the POS system. 

    25.  Keep records of all items purchased from vendors and use the purchase order forms in the POS system.

    26. Attend department head meetings.

    27. Understand and adhere to the camp-resort’s values and service standards.

    28. Develop policies and procedures for the department.

    29.  Ensure policies of the camp-resort are met.

    30.  Communicate and coordinate with the general manager all staffing requests to include advertising for positions, assisting at job fairs, and interviewing.

    31. Awareness of security issues; ensure the safety of guests and coworkers.

    32.  Knowledge about the camp-resort, the amenities, offerings, types of lodging, etc. Train staff to have the same knowledge. 

    33.  Make and meet goals set by self and supervisor.

    34.  Any other tasks as assigned by assistant manager, general manager, and owners. 

    Requirements:

    ·      Proficiency in English (oral and written)

    ·      Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both verbal and written venues.

    ·      Possess excellent organization and project management skills, leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage and complete multiple tasks simultaneously

    ·      Excellent communication and guest relation skills

    ·      Good problem-solving skills

    ·      Previous work experience in a retail environment.

    ·      Specific training and/or experience in using a cash register system or POS system

    ·    Knowledge of basic computer software such as Word and Excel.

    ·      Good business awareness for achieving successful performance.

    ·      Team working skills to be able to lead a team and be a part of it.

    ·      Ability to work independently and confidently to make your own decisions.

    ·      Ability to add, subtract, and make change.

    ·     Current certifications in First Aid/CPR and AED or willingness to obtain upon hire.

    ·      Exceptional grooming standards consistent with company guidelines. 

    ·      Wear proper work attire such as the uniform provided with appropriate pants/shorts, footwear, and name tag.

    ·      Transportation to and from Yogi Bear’s Jellystone park™ at Daddy Joe’s

    ·      High school diploma or equivalents.

    ·      Weekend, night, and holiday hours are required. 

    Physical Demands: Employees are regularly required to remain standing for long periods of time. Must be able to move up to 50lbs. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to retrieve boxes or supplies. Must be able to clean with cleaning products. 

    Travel: Travel is required to attend the annual Jellystone Park™ Symposium in the fall as well as any gift shows approved by management.
