SUMMARY:2022 - Leadership Wilmington Alumni Council Spring Meeting: New Hanover County Schools Volunteerism and Tier 2 Training
DESCRIPTION:At this meeting we will hear from NHCS CCO (and current class member) Josh Smith about why volunteering with our community school system is so important. He will share some inspiring stories about volunteer efforts and the impacts they've had on our students. We will then receive Tier 2 training (normally a $20 fee but will be covered thanks to LWAC dues). This training is valid for two years. If you've already received this training\, you should still come to this event and may donate your training to a school of your choosing for someone who may need financial assistance receiving that training. Lastly we will hear from Stefanie Adams\, school board member\, about the All Hands On Deck program and learn ways you can get your teams involved and engaged with our schools. Are you in a position to provide internships? How about speak to a group about financial literacy? Need to get your teams out of the office and want to read to a group of students for an hour? Do you have a really cool job in film or sports or technology that you could speak to the students about? There are so many ways we can make an impact on our leaders of tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you at the spring meeting!\n\n\n\nWhen you register:\n\n\n\nSelect "Current Alumni Council Member" if: You are already a member of the Leadership Wilmington Alumni Council \n\nSelect "Alumni One-Time Event" if: You are a Leadership Wilmington Alumni and would like to attend this event but do not wish to join the Alumni Council\n\nSelect "Alumni One-Year Membership" If: You are a Leadership Wilmington Alumni and would like to attend this event plus access all Alumni Council benefits for the July 21 to June 21 year!\n\n\n\n If you would like to confirm your Leadership Wilmington Alumni Council status please contact Laura Primavera at primavera@wilmingtonchamber.org or 910-762-2611 ext 200.\n\n\n\nYou do not have to be a Chamber member to attend\, but you MUST be a Leadership Wilmington Alumni Council member. \n\n\n\nA mixer will take place following the event from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
