As we move into the 2026 election cycle, I want to remind our members that North Carolina’s Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. In November, we saw a number of incumbents across our region lose their elections, an important reminder that outcomes are not guaranteed and that engagement early in the election cycle matters. It is critical that the business community stays informed and supports business-friendly candidates from the very beginning.
Now is a great time to begin familiarizing yourself with the candidates and the issues that will shape Wilmington’s economic future. The Wilmington Chamber and BASE will host an informational candidate event in February to help voters better understand the roles, responsibilities, and priorities of those seeking office. More details will be shared soon.
Early voting begins on Thursday, February 12, with locations including the Board of Elections building, Northeast Library, Carolina Beach Town Hall, and the CFCC McLeod Building. Voters are encouraged to confirm their registration status, review their sample ballot, and plan ahead for early voting. Use this link to learn more.
