• North Carolina's Stay-at-Home Order

The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce recognizes the Stay-at-Home order issued by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper today in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). We acknowledge the desire to take this step in order to avoid overwhelming our hospital systems, our dedicated healthcare workers, and the most vulnerable populations in our community.

We are encouraging our business members to adhere to this order and for people in our community to use good judgment as they go through their days in an attempt to flatten the curve and limit the spread of COVID-19. Our local businesses, their employees, and our community will be making incredible sacrifices in the short-term. The Wilmington Chamber of Commerce is committed to supporting the business community today and tomorrow as we work towards recovery.

We applaud the Governor for including Essential Businesses as outlined by the Department of Homeland Security’s CISA guidelines. If you believe you are operating an Essential Business that is not included in this list, please contact the Department of Revenue to file an appeal by clicking here. Until your exemption is reviewed, you may operate as long as your business can accommodate social distancing in your workplace.
