Education & Workforce Committee

The Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Education & Workforce Committee is a member-driven group focused on strengthening the region's talent pipeline by fostering collaboration among business, education, workforce and community partners. The Committee works to ensure students and workers are prepared for success while helping employers build and sustain the skilled workforce needed to support long-term economic growth and regional competitiveness in southeastern North Carolina.

The Committee meets quarterly and serves as a forum for business leaders to engage in discussions about education, workforce development, career pathways and talent attraction and retention. Through collaboration and advocacy, the group helps align education and workforce priorities with the evolving needs of employers and the regional economy.

The Chamber actively engages with key partners and decision-makers, including New Hanover County Schools, Cape Fear Community College, UNC Wilmington, the North Carolina Community College System, the University of North Carolina System, local boards of education, workforce development organizations, county commissioners, the North Carolina General Assembly and other regional partners to advance policies and initiatives that strengthen educational outcomes, career readiness and workforce competitiveness.

Through committee discussions, policy updates, employer roundtables and strategic initiatives, members stay informed on education and workforce trends, legislative priorities and employer challenges while helping shape the Chamber's advocacy agenda.

The Education & Workforce Committee is open to Advocate, Leader, and Visionary level Chamber members who are committed to strengthening our region's education systems, workforce pipeline and long-term economic vitality.
