The Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committee is a member-driven group focused on advancing strategic transportation and infrastructure investments that support long-term economic growth and regional competitiveness in southeastern North Carolina.
The Committee meets quarterly and serves as a public-facing platform for business leaders to elevate priorities related to roads, bridges, freight mobility, port access, transit, and other critical infrastructure needs. Through coordinated advocacy, the group ensures the business community has a strong, unified voice in shaping transportation policy and funding decisions at the local, state, and federal levels.
The Chamber actively engages with key partners and decision-makers, including the the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the Wilmington Urban Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, Wilmington City Council, New Hanover County Board of Commissioners, the North Carolina General Assembly, and members of Congress in Washington, D.C., to advance projects and policies that impact the region’s growth and workforce connectivity.
Through committee discussions, policy updates, and targeted advocacy efforts, members stay informed on major transportation initiatives and funding opportunities while helping shape the Chamber’s infrastructure priorities.
The Transportation Committee is open to Advocate, Leader, and Visionary level Chamber members who are interested in engaging in transportation policy and infrastructure advocacy.
