    Laura Primavera joins the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce as Director of Programs and Initiatives

    Wilmington, N.C. — Laura Primavera will be joining the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce as the new Director of Programs and Initiatives on May 3, 2021. Laura will report directly to Wilmington Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Natalie English. Her job responsibilities include managing all of the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce's events, the chamber's councils, and the Leadership Wilmington program. 

    Laura will be responsible for the concept development, planning, logistics, and execution of all on-site and off-site membership events, including signature events like our Elected Officials BBQ, Women's Professional Development Luncheon, 40 Under 40 Awards, and more. Laura will also be responsible for overseeing the Wilmington Chamber's Leadership Wilmington program, a 10-month leadership development program for our community's aspiring professionals, and building a robust alumni network. 
     
    Wilmington Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Natalie English says, "As we transition back to hosting in-person events, we believe the chamber's membership experiences are going to be more valuable than ever before.     Most recently, Laura worked as the Manager of Programs and Operations at the Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In this role, Laura lead program development, execution, and evaluation of all CIE programs. She helped to develop strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations within the Greater Wilmington region to advance the CIE's mission. 
     
    Laura Primavera received a bachelor's degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Appalachian State University and a master's degree in Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
      
    Laura will complete the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce's Leadership Wilmington program in May of 2021. In 2020, Laura was recognized in the Wilmington Biz 100 as a Connector in our community. She received a 40 Under 40 Award from the StarNews and Wilmington Chamber of Commerce in 2019. She participated in the Wilma Leadership Institute in 2018. She was also recognized by UNCW for Excellence in Community Engagement in 2018.
     
    Laura has a lot to share with our membership. When she's not busy with her four children, she enjoys volunteering with the Cucalorus Festival, Wrightsville United Methodist Church, and as a mentor to college students preparing for their careers.
