Last week we celebrated a significant milestone for our region; the opening of Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center.
As southeastern North Carolina continues to experience rapid population growth, access to quality healthcare remains a critical factor in attracting new residents, supporting workforce development, and encouraging business investment. The new medical center helps meet those needs by providing expanded access to emergency, surgical, and specialty care closer to home for residents throughout northern New Hanover and Pender counties.
Investments of this scale strengthen our community's infrastructure and enhance the quality of life that makes our area an attractive place to live, work, and do business.
The Greater Wilmington Chamber applauds Novant Health for its commitment to our growing region and congratulates the leadership, staff, and community partners who helped bring this project to fruition. We look forward to the positive impact Scotts Hill Medical Center will have on the health, prosperity, and long-term success of our community.
Novant Health is the presenting sponsor for this year’s Healthcare Summit, hosted by the Greater Wilmington Chamber and SEAHEC. The Healthcare Summit brings together industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers to explore the future of healthcare in Southeastern North Carolina and beyond. If your company or organization wants to be in front of these leaders, I highly suggest you consider sponsoring this event.
While on the topic of healthcare, I would also like to congratulate UNCW on its progress toward establishing a standalone medical school. This is another significant investment for our region and will help strengthen the local healthcare workforce by increasing opportunities to educate, train, and retain medical professionals in southeastern North Carolina.
