President's Report from September 21, 2026

I am excited to welcome two new team members to the Greater Wilmington Chamber of Commerce: Barbara Stapleton, SVP of Economic & Leadership Development, and David Lee, VP of Small Business Retention & Expansion.

Barbara Stapleton brings a wealth of experience and will lead our efforts in economic and leadership development. Her work will focus on strengthening the Chamber’s role in small business growth and developing the leaders and talent businesses need. Through her leadership, we will be able to build on our existing programs and partnerships while identifying new opportunities to connect business, education, and community leaders.

David Lee will spend the next few weeks getting to know our community, meeting with business owners and building relationships that will help shape the Chamber’s business retention and expansion efforts. His focus will be on understanding the needs and challenges facing small businesses, identifying opportunities to support their continued growth, and connecting businesses with the resources, relationships and tools they need to expand and succeed in our community.

Both Barbara and David bring valuable experience and fresh perspectives to our team. Their work will strengthen our ability to serve our members, build meaningful relationships throughout the community and advance the Chamber’s role as a catalyst for economic growth and leadership development in the Greater Wilmington region.
