This month's After-Hours BizMix takes place at Smoke on the Water, where Chamber members can enjoy an evening of networking with local business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and community partners in a relaxed waterfront setting. Registration includes complimentary parking, two drink tickets, and light refreshments.
 
August BizMix is proudly sponsored by the broad, bipartisan community campaign supporting the New Hanover County Schools bond referendum on the November 3, 2026, ballot.
 
If you've been hearing about the proposed school bond and have questions, this is a great opportunity to learn more. Campaign volunteers will be available throughout the evening to provide factual information about the referendum, which would fund a new Trask Middle School, Phase I of the New Hanover High School master plan, a replacement Pine Valley Elementary School, a new Riverlights Elementary School, and districtwide safety, HVAC, and technology improvements.
 
There is no presentation or formal program, just an opportunity to network, enjoy the evening, and ask questions if you're interested.
 
The campaign also welcomes volunteers who would like to:
·      Serve as community ambassadors by sharing factual information about the referendum.
·      Host presentations for businesses, civic organizations, or neighborhood associations.
·      Support voter education efforts leading up to Election Day.
