My name is Kayla West and I am the laboratory director at Plastic Ocean Project. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on creating plastic pollution solutions through research, public education, and art. I manage multiple research projects looking at microplastics in different environments (freshwater, marine surface samples, and mammal digestive tracts), as well as, training and supervising students/volunteers in a laboratory setting.
